Abstract

This study aims to estimate the effect of economic growth, human development index, inflation and poverty on the island of Java in 2010-2016. Secondary data sourced from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS). The tool or method used in this research is panel data analysis using the Fixed Effect Model (FEM) method. The test results show that HDI and unemployment have no negative effect on poverty in Java, while inflation does not have a positive effect on poverty in Java, and economic growth has no effect. The results of the F test prove that the existing model exists or together there is an influence on economic growth, HDI, inflation rate and inflation on poverty levels in Java Island Province in 2010-2016. The coefficient of determination of 99.07% means that the variable of the poverty rate can be explained by the variables of economic growth, HDI, inflation, and unemployment while the remaining 1.93 is explained by other variables included in the model.
