Abstract

This study aims to 1) Analyze the development of pocket book media for earthquake materials at SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Klaten. and 2) Analyzing the feasibility of pocket book learning media for earthquake disaster preparedness at SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Klaten. Data collection techniques to determine the feasibility of learning media can be done by testing the needs of respondents, need analysis, expert validation, feasibility assessment, and documentation. The development method adopted the development plan by Borg and Gall, using 6 stages of research and data collection, planning, initial product development, final product revision, and the feasibility of pocket book media. The assessment uses a questionnaire given to media experts, material experts, 1 social studies subject teacher, and 24 students of class VII D as respondents. The results of the study show that: 1) The results of the development of learning media in the form of a pocket book which is a form of two-dimensional graphic media that contains learning materials about Indonesia's natural conditions and earthquake disaster preparedness with product specifications: paper size (10x15 cm), paper type (art. 150 grams of paper), color (colour), font type and size (Times New Roman, size 10), number of pages (48 pages), language (Indonesian) and material (Indonesia's geographical conditions and earthquake preparedness). 2) The results of the feasibility value of pocket book media obtained from the results of the assessment by material experts, media experts, 1 social studies teacher and 24 students of class VII D with a score of 4.43 the results are categorized that the teaching media developed in the form of pocket books in the category "Very good". So it can be concluded that the developed media is feasible to use.
