Abstract

Management is the management, effort, stewardship, implementation, use of human resources to achieve the desired goals. In management education activities, it is necessary for the management of education in schools to be more focused with a clear vision, mission and goals. Of the many schools that have been established, many schools that have good quality can be seen from adequate school facilities and infrastructure, qualified teachers, and directed students. All of that can form a quality school if it is managed and directed properly. Therefore, management in building quality schools is very necessary, management in schools not only manages the quality of schools but manages every part of the school including educators. This study aims to describe how the management of teaching staff in MAN 1 Surakarta and the success of the management of teaching staff in MAN 1 Surakarta. This type of research is qualitative research with data collection methods using observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis method used is data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results showed that the management of teaching staff at MAN 1 Surakarta was carried out in several stages, starting from the planning stage, requesting employees/recruitment, coaching, promotion and transfer, reward and punishment stage, performance appraisal stage and termination stage. The success of the management of teaching staff is shown by the success of teachers in the academic field by creating and publishing books or scientific works and the success of teachers in the non-academic field is shown by the achievements of teachers in winning competitions and teacher achievements by guiding their students to win competitions.
