Abstract
Introduction: Nutritional status is an important parameter to determine the suitability of nutrient intake with the needs of toddlers. Measurement of nutritional status needs to be done to detect nutritional problems as early as possible, such as malnutrition and excess nutrition. The nutritional status of toddlers can be influenced by the duration of exclusive breastfeeding and the length of mother's education. Research Methods: This type of research is analytic observational with a retrospective cross-sectional approach. Samples of toddlers aged 1-5 years and mothers of toddlers who met the inclusion and exclusive criteria were taken by simple random sampling as many as 62 people. Primary data (long duration of exclusive breastfeeding, length of mother's education, characteristics of respondents and samples) were collected through telephone interviews using a questionnaire. Secondary data on weight and height were collected from records of posyandu cadres and then processed by Spearman's Rank Test. Results: Most of the toddlers are of pre-school age and are female, while mothers of toddlers are in early adulthood and are housewives. The highest duration of exclusive breastfeeding was 6 months (43.5%), 1 month (22.6%), and 3 months (11.3%). The highest length of education for mothers was 12 years (56.6%), 9 years (25.8%), 15 and 16 years (6.5%). Under-fives with good nutrition dominate (79%) the highest comes from the duration of exclusive breastfeeding for 4 and 5 months (100%) with the mother's education being 12 years (88.6%). Undernutrition and overnutrition were still found (8.1% and 12.9%). Conclution dan Suggestion: There is no relationship between the length of exclusive breastfeeding and the length of mother's education with the nutritional status of children under five in Gebangharjo Village (p=0.790 and 0.204).The importance of socialization about exclusive breastfeeding to increase the coverage of exclusive breastfeeding in Gebangharjo Village
