Abstract
The limited knowledge of pregnant women about exclusive breastfeeding is the cause of mothers not exclusively breastfeeding their babies. The level of knowledge of pregnant women about exclusive breastfeeding can be increased by providing nutrition education, one of the media that can be used for nutrition education is leaflet media. Based on the monitoring of exclusive breastfeeding coverage at the Mojolaban Health Center in 2018, 62.7% was still in the 3rd lowest rank in Sukoharjo Regency. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of providing nutrition education with leaflet media on the knowledge and attitudes of mothers in exclusive breastfeeding in Cangkol Village, Mojolaban District, Sukoharjo Regency. This research is a quantitative quasi-experimental type with a one group pretest post test design. Consisting of 30 samples of pregnant women, taken in Cangkol Village in the Mojolaban Community Health Center target area. Pretest data was taken before the intervention in the form of providing nutrition education about exclusive breastfeeding 1 time door to door using leaflet media, leaflet media was lent for 1 week then posttest was carried out. The results of this study indicate that there is an average result of knowledge before nutrition education is 8.6% which can be categorized as poor, after nutrition education the average knowledge increases by 12.7% which can be categorized as quite good. The results of the average attitude before nutrition education was carried out, there was a value of 49.43% which could be categorized as poor and after nutrition education the average attitude value increased by 63.17% which could be categorized as quite good. The results of data analysis showed the effect of education with leaflet media on pregnant women's knowledge about exclusive breastfeeding based on the Wilcoxon sign test showing p value = 0.000, the results of data analysis showed that there was an effect of education with leaflet media on pregnant women's attitudes about exclusive breastfeeding showing p value = 0.000. The conclusion of this study is that there is an effect of nutrition education with leaflet media on mother's knowledge and attitudes in exclusive breastfeeding.
