Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of regional spending on education, health sektor spending, poverty and gross regional domestic product in Banten province in 2015-2019. The data used in this study are secondary data sourced from the Central Statistiks Agency (BPS) and the Directorate General of Financial Balance (DJPK). The analysis model used is panel data regression. Based on the results of the model selection test, it proves that the best model chosen is the random effect model (REM). The results of the t-test analysis show that the regional expenditures for the education sector and poverty have a negatif and significant effect on the human development index in Banten province, and the health sector regional expenditure variables have a positive and significant effect on the human development index in the Banten province. Meanwhile, the gross regional domestic product variable has no effect on the human development index. The results of the F test prove that the random effects model approach exists. The determinant coefficient of 42.94% means that the variation of the human development index variable can be explained by the education sector regional expenditure variable, the health sector regional expenditure variable, the poverty variable, and the GRDP variable. While the remaining 57.04%, explained by other independent variables that are not included in the model.
