Abstract

Abstract In carrying out the task of teaching, a teacher must have a strategy in carrying out learning activities. Learning strategies are patterns of general activity in realizing the teaching and learning activities to achieve the expected goals. Strategies in learning is important and fundamental that must be understood and carried out by teachers, which covers the process of learning planning up to evaluation. A teacher should prepare the strategy so that the teaching and learning activities run smoothly and students can also fulfill what the needs are. The problem to be studied in this research is how the strategy of teachers in distance learning and what are the constraints faced by teachers in the implementation of distance learning. The purpose of this study is to describe the strategy and the constraints faced by teachers in distance learning. This study considered research field with a type of qualitative approach. Data collection methods used in the form of interviews, observation, and documentation. In his analysis, the author pours the data obtained in the form of a word or the scheme, and then described and make conclusions. The results of the analysis of the data obtained conclusions can be drawn, namely the PAI teachers of SMP Negeri 2 Sragen in carrying out distance learning use the expository strategy includes three stages, namely planning with the creation of LESSON plans, the implementation of learning using the media WhatsApp, Google Classroom, and Zoom Meeting, and the last is the implementation of the evaluation includes the evaluation in the realm of knowledge, attitudes, and skills which was conducted online through Google Classroom and Google Form as well as the observations of the teacher in the class forums online. While the constraints experienced by teachers of which are less active students, the discrepancy and the obscurity of the data, the teacher can not monitor the students directly, the lack in providing education and character formation of the students, and the presence of network constraints of the internet.
