Abstract
Swimming is a water sport, it is carried out as a means of achievement, but also to develop motor skills, especially gross motor skills in children. Learning breaststroke is learning to swim, with the body facing the surface of the water, unlike freestyle. Exercise in learning breaststroke swimming is the main component used as a means of improving children's motor skills. Motor ability refers to the ability to control development or capacity for physical activity through coordinated activities of the nerve center, nerves, and muscles. This study aims to determine and describe the prerequisites to action, the first cycle and the second cycle of breaststroke swimming learning, and to show whether breaststroke swimming learning methods can improve motor skills. The type of research used is classroom action research, conducted by researchers in collaboration with teachers. This study conducted 4 face-to-face or 2 cycles, and there were still 2 face-to-face meetings in each cycle. The subject of this study is Robbani Kendal, a fifth-year SDIT student. The results of this study show that, by learning breaststroke swimming, a total of 18 children in the SDIT Robbani Kendal V class have improved their motor skills. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of breaststroke learning on the exercise improvement of SDIT Robbani Kendal fifth grade students. The data are obtained using the breaststroke swimming capacity observation table. Based on the analysis of qualitative and descriptive data on the use of breaststroke learning to improve the motor skills of SDIT Robbani fifth graders, the final results for gross motor skills have several categories: underdeveloped, underdeveloped (11.1 %) and developed as expected (11.1). %), highly developed (78%). Therefore, it can be concluded that the application of breaststroke swimming learning can be used as an alternative method to improve motor skills and replace boredom, since swimming has many benefits and is very conducive to the development of children's sports.
