Abstract

This study aims to describe the factors that cause consumers to buy goods in the modern Alfamart retail kartasura area. This type of research is qualitative with ethnographic research design. The subjects of this study were 22 consumers who finished shopping at Alfamart in the Kartasura area. The data collection techniques used are with observation, interviews, and documentation. The study used triangulation techniques to ensure the validity of the data. Data analysis techniques use data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion withdrawal. Consumer culture itself is a habit carried out by consumers, the habit in question is the habit of buying goods, which is served by supporting factors, these factors are (1) consumer culture factors, (2) service factors, (3) promotional factors, (4) facility factors, and (5) location factors. In the five factors that affect consumers buying goods in modern retail Alfamart Kartasura area is a consumer culture factor supported by the location factor where modern retail is in a strategic place and easily reached by consumers, next due to service factors, promotional factors, and facilities factors. With these five factors, it is expected that Alfamart can continue to maintain the factors that make consumers buy goods in Alfamart Kartasura area.
