Abstract

One of the concepts that can be used to assist quality management in time efficiency, provide satisfactory service and also be value oriented is to apply a lean approach in health services. As an effort to improve the quality of services at the Gamping II Health Center as the 2020 Model Health Center and the Main Accredited Health Center in 2018, efforts have been made to reduce contacts with old patients at registration. However, there has been no attempt to streamline the flow of new patient registration at the Gamping II Health Center. The purpose of this study was to determine the presence of waste in the flow of new patient registration at the Gamping II Health Center. This study used quantitative methods and is a descriptive research which aims to describe the that occurs in the flow of new patient registration at the Gamping II Health Center. The population and sample in this study is the time calculated from the flow of registration of each new patient at the Gamping II Health Center. Data analysis was carried out using value stream mapping. The results of the study found 3 wastes that occurred in the new patient registration flow, namely wastes of waiting, motion, and inappropriate processing. The value added analysis value in the new patient registration flow is 22.07%, non-value added is 38.22%, and necessary but non-value added is 39.66%. Identification of the root of the problem is done using fish bone. The suggested alternative is to use an electronic medical record and the addition of a printer or printer splitter.
