Abstract

Cases of animal mistreatment in Indonesia are increasingly diverse such as eating animals alive. This has been stipulated in Livestock Law No. 41 of 2014 on Livestock and Animal Health. But in Laos the country uses animals to carry heavy loads such as elephants at new year's ceremonies. The purpose of this study is to find out the comparison of the forms of animal abuse crimes in Indonesian and Laotian criminal law, to know the comparison of elements of animal abuse crimes in Indonesian and Laotian criminal law, and to know the comparison of sanctions for animal mistreatment in Indonesian and Laotian criminal law. This research uses the method of legislation approach and comparison approach. Then the data will be collected by means of literature study. As for the data source used is secondary data. Technical methods of description, interpretation, systematization, argumentation, and evaluation will analyze the data.
