Abstract

Rattan is one of the many natural resources found in Indonesia. Trangsan Village is one of the villages that makes handicrafts out of rattan. This village is known as a rattan tourism destination and an exporter of rattan handicrafts that are valued both domestically and internationally. The world was confronted with the occurrence of the Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19), at the start of 2020, which paralyzed various commercial sectors, including the rattan craft industry. In Trangsan Village, Gatak Sub District, Sukoharjo Regency, this has an impact on the rattan craft sector. It is required to plan, organize, mobilize, and supervise in the sphere of business management, especially human resource management, financial management, production management, and marketing management, in order for the firm to run smoothly.This study intends to examine the human resources, finance, production, and marketing management practices used by the owner of a rattan handicraft business in Trangsan Village, Gatak Sub District. This study uses a case study design to conduct a descriptive qualitative investigation. The proprietor of a rattan handicraft business in Trangsan Village, Gatak Sub District, Sukoharjo is the topic of this study, which includes three informants: the owner of Rattan World, Agung Rejeki Furniture, and Asri Rattan. Interviews, observation, and documentation were utilized to obtain data in this study. Data gathering, data reduction, data presentation, and the findings revealed that human resource management in terms of recruiting and selection of prospective personnel based on worker recommendations, clear division of labor, and the presence of regular supervision by the owner. Drawing conclusions or verification are the four stages of the data analysis technique. Financial management is carried out with own capital and loans; income increases during the pandemic due to many orders from abroad; financial records need to be improved because they are still done manually and are not yet detailed; financial records need to be improved because they are still done manually and are not yet detailed. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which slowed down the production process, production management faced challenges, including rising raw material prices and delays in raw material delivery. Finished products also experienced delays in delivery due to a lack of export containers. The marketing mix, which includes product, pricing, and promotion, is used by marketing management. However, because exhibitions were discontinued during the epidemic, it was necessary to extend promotions through digital media and e-commerce.
