Abstract
Online thematic learning in its implementation there are obstacles that occur. This study aims to describe 1) The implementation of online thematic learning. 2) Obstacles that occur in the implementation of online thematic learning. 3) The teacher's role in overcoming obstacles to the implementation of online thematic learning. The subjects of this study were principals, teachers, and low grade students at SDN 05 Beji Pemalang. Data collection techniques used are interviews, observation and documentation. The validity of the data was obtained through source triangulation and technical triangulation. The results of this study indicate 1) The implementation of online thematic learning is carried out using applications that support teaching and learning activities that have been agreed upon by teachers and parents of students, namely WhatsApp Groups and are carried out according to class levels, learning materials, and student readiness, 2) Obstacles in implementing learning online thematics are experienced by teachers and students. Barriers to teachers are divided into 2, namely internal factors including teacher unpreparedness, age and low knowledge of science and technology, while external factors include parental assistance, parents who are less literate in science and technology, do not have smartphones, children do not learn and understand the material, internet quotas that are low. expensive and the internet network is less stable. Then the obstacles for students include smartphones still with their parents, lack of parental attention, only doing questions so that they get bored, there must be assistance or explanations from teachers or tutors, 3) The role of teachers in overcoming obstacles to the implementation of online thematic learning, namely through the teacher's role as class manager, source of information, facilitator, educator, motivator and evaluator.
