Abstract

Malocclusion is a misalignment or incorrect relation between the teeth of upper and lower dental arches when they approach each other as the jaws close. In destistry history, the pravelence of malocclusioj are showed very high percentage in dental and oral health problem. It is caused by dental aesthetic problems that influence in negative relation and psychosocial through childrens world. Feeling shame can be impacted as a barrier to interact with others especially children. This study about malocclusion has been examined by other researchers but the study about relation between malocclusion and psychosicial is limited. The study was aimed to determine whether malocclusion anomalies impact psychosocial in children. Literature review: Malocclusion is defined as any deviation of the occlusion from ideal which take into aesthetic assessment and the impact o functionality. An anomaly that was suffered by others can impact their behavior in daily life. It also impacted on a quality of life. This condition can allow many negative reaction and perception from other people. Conclusion: The impact of malocclusion through psychosocial in children is influenced by many factors, such as; age, gender, education and socioeconomic. People of high socioeconomic status pay more attention about their dental and oral health and more aware in their dentofacial appearance. Nevertheless malocclusion through psychosocialin children is not only influenced by mentioned factors, but also influenced by ethnic differences and sociocultural in countries around the world. It was indicated that influenced in someone’s mindset to respond this malocclusion anomalies. This self-assessment is influenced by self awareness to avoid teasing, name-calling, and bullying.
