Abstract

In today's era, it is a challenge for educators to make students better and superior in the fields of science, technology and spiritual science, namely religion. It is hoped that students will be able to balance technology and increase faith in God Almighty. The importance of the knowledge of faith that will be planted from an early age to prevent the negative or negative impacts caused by science and technology. So, in formal schools, the curriculum is required to have Islamic Religious Education lessons to increase students' faith in God Almighty. From the above understanding, Islamic education is one of the efforts for students through guidance carried out by educators or teachers consciously. This is one of the things to shape the process of physical and spiritual formation of a Muslim personality towards religious teachings and fear Allah swt and stay away from His prohibitions. Educators have an important role and are responsible for their duties to direct students. Therefore, especially PAI teachers, here PAI teachers also have the responsibility to develop Islamic education in life, instill Islamic values, provide examples of Islamic attitudes to life to be applied in everyday life. The formulation of the problem above is how the efforts of PAI teachers in forming spiritual intelligence in students at SMA Muhammadiyah 3 Surakarta and what are the supporting and inhibiting factors. /2021 and its supporting and inhibiting factors. This study uses a qualitative approach with field studies at SMA Muhammadiyah 3 Surakarta. Data collection techniques by observation, interviews, and also documentation obtained directly from the school. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach that begins with reducing the data, then presenting the data and drawing conclusions using the deductive method. The results of this study can be concluded that the efforts given by PAI teachers are to educate, motivate, and give advice to students. In addition, the PAI teacher also invites and directs students to: 1.) Inculcate mental attitude 2.) Forming a person with noble character 3.) Collaborating with internal and external institutions 4.) Creating team work 5.) Providing reward and punishment 6. ) Have a sense of social empathy in kindness 7.) Able to distinguish between individual and group interests 8.) Can develop science and technology. Supporting factors and inhibiting factors, namely, come from family, school and environment.
