Abstract
Watershed has an important role in environmental structure; therefore, it needs good management to sustain the role of the watershed, especially regarding erosion and sedimentation which are problems that occur in the Cikapundung Sub-watershed. In this study, the SWAT (Soil Water Assessment Tool) model was used, to determine the effect of land use and watershed physical conditions on spatial erosion rates. The Cikapundung sub-watershed is the upstream part of the Citarum watershed which consists of the morphology of mountains, hills and plains. This research aims to; 1) Analyse the spatial distribution of erosion rate with SWAT modelling in Cikapundung Sub-watershed, 2) Determine the accuracy of SWAT modelling for erosion rates in Cikapundung Sub-watershed. The results obtained from this study include 1) The level of erosion in the Cikapundung watershed was 35,62% high and 64,38% very high. The average erosion in Cikapundung Sub-watershed is 560,44 tones / Ha/ year, erosion is caused by land use which is dominated by dry agricultural land which has high erodibility, slope, soil type, discharge, and rainfall. 2) The result of model validation is the value of R² = 0,69, which means that if the value of R²> 0.5 indicates that the model is acceptable.
