Abstract

Financial literacy does play an important role to be applied in people's daily lives. With a good understanding of financial literacy, the community will be able to manage their finances better and more organized, especially for those KPM PKH and KKS. The PKH and KKS programs are provided by the government for those who are underprivileged or registered poor families. This study aims to describe the financial literacy of PKH and KKS recipients in Cinderejo Lor. This study uses a qualitative research type with an ethnographic design. Collecting data in this study by means of observation, interviews and documentation. The validity of the data in this research was tested through triangulation of source data. The stages of data analysis techniques are determining informants, interviewing informants, making ethnographic notes, asking descriptive questions, analyzing interviews, creating domains, asking structural questions, making taxonomics, asking contrasting questions, componential analysis, finding cultural themes, and writing ethnography. The results of this study explain that the characteristics of the financial literacy of the recipients of the PKH and KKS programs are different from one another, including being frugal, wasteful, and wasting money. The PKH program is given in the form of basic necessities and money, while the KKS program is provided only in the form of food and beverage. The implementation of the PKH and KKS programs is divided into two, namely right on target and less on target. With the difference in the level of consumptiveness between people with one another, it also causes differences in the characteristics of literacy.
