Abstract
The city of Bekasi has developed and transformed into an industrial and densely populated area. The high level of development and mobility of the population makes the city of Bekasi experience a high land function, especially in the non-residential sector into settlements. This causes a significant temperature difference between Bekasi City and the surrounding area, which is commonly referred to as urban heat island phenomenon. The purpose of this study is (1) Analyzing the distribution of LST and UHI in Bekasi city in 2014 and 2019, (2) analyzing the relationship of land built with UHI. This study uses survey method, while for sampling using random sampling method. One way to get the estimated value of UHI and LST is done by extracting Landsat 8 image data. As for mapping objects awakened using the MLC supervised classification algorithm. To find out the relationship between the land built and UHI conducted a simple correlation analysis pearson product moment. The results of this study show that LST from 2014 to 2019 always experienced a rise in temperature. While UHI experienced a trend of concentration on the north side of Bekasi City, such as the districts of North Bekasi, South Bekasi, East Bekasi, and Medan Satria. The simple correlation between the land and UHI from 2014 to 2019 showed an average value of 0.55 which means that between the land was built and UHI had a strong relationship. A positive r value indicates that if UHI and the land are built to have a linear relationship, if the land is built up it will be followed by the rise of the UHI phenomenon in Bekasi City.
