Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe: (1) Factors influencing the choice of business location. (2) The most dominant factor influencing the choice of business location. This research used qualitative approved with a case study design. Informants were owners, production employees, and raw material employee. The object of this research was the location of the business and the availability of raw materials for Abon Lele Karmina SMEs. The results of this study indicate that the location of the business affects the production process. The fluency running of a business can be seen from the selection of the right location. Where an appropriate location, namely the location of the business must be close to the source of raw materials. In addition, the business location must pay attention to other factors that influence the choice of business location, these factors are: the location of the source of raw materials, the location of the market, the availability of labor, and local government regulations. To conclude, the most dominant factor is the location of the source of raw materials. Based on the factors that have been considered, it will be easier when opening a business. This research can be expected to be developed by further research regarding the factors that are considered in the selection of business locations with a broader discussion.
