Abstract

This study aims to (1) describe the structure that builds Boy Candra's novel Seperti Hujan Yang Jatuh Ke Bumi, (2) describe moral values in the novel with a review of Sociology of Literature, (3) explain the relevance of research results as literary teaching materials in high school. This study used a qualitative descriptive method with the object of research being moral values in the novel Seperti Hujan Yang Jatuh Ke Bumi. Data collection was done by using library techniques, listening, and taking notes. The validity of the data used theoretical triangulation techniques. The data analysis technique was done by using detailed analysis technique. The results of this study are (1) the structure of the novel Seperti Hujan Yang Jatuh Ke Bumi, among others, the themes are love and friendship. Facts of the story, a) the plot used is the forward plot, b) the main character is Kevin, c) the setting for this script is Parigi Moutong Regency, Padang City, Padang Pariaman Regency and Fifty Cities Regency, the time setting occurs between the 2014s period , social background elevates student life and community activities they are involved in, (2) moral values in the novel Seperti Hujan Yang Jatuh Ke Bumi, there are three types of moral values, namely human moral values, social morals, and moral justice, (3) this research is in accordance with The criteria for selecting teaching materials are a) aspects of language, b) aspects of psychology, c) aspects of the background of students so that they can be relevant as teaching materials in SMA class XI according to KD 3.11 to analyze messages from the fiction books that are read.
