Abstract
This study aims to describe the self-adjustment of female students who are in Islamic boarding schools. The research question is how do female students adjust to the Islamic boarding school. Data collection techniques in this study used interview methods and then verbatim, analysis, and coding. The number of informants taken was 4 people who were female students who lived in Islamic boarding schools for more than 1 year. The factors are, peers, family and environment. Aspects of self-adjustment are emotional control, self-defense mechanisms, personal frustration, rational considerations and self-efficacy, the ability to learn and forgive the past, realistic and objective attitudes. The results of the study describe students who live in Islamic boarding schools who live far from their parents and family, so that students can live independently. The way students adjust to the environment of the Islamic boarding school tends to adapt to the difficulties they face and turn them into maturity. When able to adjust well, namely feeling happy, calm and comfortable and being disciplined and getting a lot of experience The emergence of problems faced by female students can affect the lives and activities of female students. Of all the informants, namely female students, they can adjust themselves in a good way. The problems that occur in adjusting to make students have mature thoughts.
