Abstract

Jebres Subdistrict has experienced rapid development and has experienced changes in its land use, from previously un-developed agricultural land to a built-up area. This increase has resulted in the expansion of the built-in land which is used for housing, education and industry. The purpose of this study is to find out the land use change change and the impact of population density on land use change in Jebres District. This research uses qualitative data analysis methods. The qualitative data uses map analysis from the results overlay of land change mapin 2010 and 2018. Agenda of land use change in Jebres District from land to large settlements are found in Jebres Village and Mojosongo Village, with the extent of changes experienced by Jebres Village from 2010 to Year 2018 was 15% while Mojosongo Village from 2010 to 2018 was 81.55%. Jebres Village and Mojosongo Village were the most intensive in the occurrence of change, while the less intensive ones were Tegalharjo Village, Purwodiningratan Village, Pucangsawit Village, Kepatihan Kulon Village and Gendakan Village. Land use in 2010 Jebres Subdistrict, Surakarta City was dominated by Empty Land with a total of 231,199 Ha. The largest vacant land is in the Mojosongo area with a total of 110.88 ha. Agenda of land use change in Jebres District from land to buildings also in Mojosongo Village and Jebres Village, land use that occurred in Mojosongo Village in 2010 was 36.76 ha, in 2018 there was an increase in the use of building land with an area of 43.55 ha. , then the percentage of building land use in Mojosongo Village is 64.24%. Whereas Jebres Village in 2010 had a building area of 73.73 ha, and increased land use in 2018 of 77.42 ha, so the percentage of Jebres Village land use increased by 34.91%. Jebres Village and Mojosongo Village were the most intensive in the occurrence of change, while the less intensive ones were Tegalharjo Village, Sudiropraja Village, Sewu Village, Purwodiningratan Village, Pucangsawit Village, Kepatihan Wetan Village, Jagalan Village and Gendakan Village. The existing developments in Kelurahan Mojosongo and Kelurahan Jebres have triggered an increase in population, the location of the two villages which is not far from the city center and is crossed by a ring route between districts makes some residents from outside the city who work in Surakarta City choose Jebres Subdistrict to live with land values which is not too expensive because it is not in an urban area but is considered to have very close access to the city center. Apart from being close to industrial areas for offices, close access to educational areas, such as the university in Jebres District, is one of the increasing numbers of the population in these two kelurahan. So changes in land use caused by population density can affect land use change, especially an increase in the number of settlements, an increase in building land use and a more productive land use value.
