Abstract

Academic procrastination is a problem that often occurs in students. One of the factors that influence academic procrastination is gender. However, several studies have shown different results regarding the presence or absence of gender differences in academic procrastination. This study aims to examine differences in academic procrastination in students in terms of gender. Subjects in this study were active students of the Faculty Psychology University of Muhammadiyah Surakarta totaling 358, 164 male and 194 female. Data collection tools used were academic procrastination scale. The collected data were analyzed by independent t-test. The results of the analysis show that there are significant differences between men and women in academic procrastination. In this case the level of academic procrastination of male students is higher than female student.
