Abstract

Tangerang Selatan is one of the satellite cities that has been targeted by urbanization. The increase of built land area in South Tangerang can cause an increase in land surface temperature and urban heat island phenomenon due to high heat reflection. The purpose of this study are: 1.) Determining the distribution of built land cover and LST in South Tangerang in 2010 and 2020. 2.) Analyzing the relationship between the growth of built land cover and the increase of LST in South Tangerang in 2010 and 2020. 3.) Analyzing the relationship between the raise in land surface temperature and the distribution of UHI. The method used in this study is image data processing in Landsat 7 and Landsat 8 to obtain land cover classification, LST classification, and UHI. Linear regression test is used to determine the effect of built land cover on LST. The results are: 1.) There was an increase in built-in land cover, LST, and a decrease in the area of UHI from 2010 to 2020. 2.) Built land cover had an effect of 30.4% on the increase in LST. 3.) The decrease in the area of UHI is caused by a decrease in temperature variations.
