Abstract
Effort is the purpose of effort, effort (to achieve a goal, solve problems, find a way out) effort. Efforts are defined as efforts or efforts made to be able to read the Qur'an properly and correctly, efforts made by learning and practicing. The teacher has an important role in this effort, the teacher is the center of guidance for children who want to learn to read the Qur'an, this is important to do, because the teacher's role in teaching reading will help children to discover their abilities. in terms of reading the Qur'an. The objectives of this study are 1) to identify and to describe the efforts done by the managers of Al-Barokah TPQ in improving children's Qur'an reading skills in Dukuh Ngemplak, Mayang, Gatak, Sukoharjo. 2) To analyze and to describe supporting and inhibiting factors during the process of Al-Barokah TPQ implementation activities. To achieve these objectives, the researcher used qualitative approach with the type of field research. The methods used by the researcher in collecting data are observation, interview and documentation. The data of this study were analyzed by using descriptive analysis. The data sources of this study were obtained from the head’s takmir of the Al-Barokah Mosque, the teachers of Al Barakah TPQ (Quran Leraning Center), the students and the student’s parents. The results of this study show that the efforts to improve Quran’s reading skills at TPQ Al-Barokah are: 1) starting with attracting children's interest to go to TPQ such as playing games that they like, making special uniforms and procuring cards achievement for the students of Al-Barokah TPQ. 2) The methods used in this TPQ are Iqro 'and oral methods. Both of these methods are easy to be understood by the children of Al Barakah TPQ (Quran Learning Cemter). 3) Several factors supporting TPQ, namely the willingness of students, adequate teachers, facilities and infrastructure, varied materials, support from student’s parents, donors and the people around Dukuh Ngemplak. 4) Meanwhile, the inhibiting factors for Al Barakah TPQ are when the children are not in a good mood, the limited space for teaching and learning process, when the children are missing their achievement cards, The teachers found the difficulties in conditioning the students, Al Barakah TPQ faced the lack of technological development and the demands of the parents on the student’s success
