Abstract

The background of this research is that the curriculum is a very important component in the implementation of education. Curriculum issues are quite interesting discussions in education, especially in Islamic boarding schools. One of the Islamic boarding schools that get the status of mu'is/equality is the Al Madinah Boyolali Islamic Boarding School. The problem with this research is how to design the curriculum of the mu'is boarding school at Al Madinah Boyolali Islamic boarding school and how to apply the curriculum. This study aims to describe the application of the curriculum of the mu'is boarding school in the Al Madinah Islamic boarding school Boyolali. This research is a qualitative research, taking the background of Al Madinah Islamic Boarding School Boyolali. Data was collected using observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique used interactive analysis, namely, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Checking the validity of the data is done by conducting triangulation. The results of the study show: First, the curriculum used by the Al Madinah Boyolali Islamic boarding school, namely the purpose of the pesantren is to foster self-confidence and master the classical books. The composition of religious subjects with general subjects is 70% and 30%. The strategy is designed through aspects of the learning process, guidance, potential development, and character building. There are two aspects of curriculum evaluation, namely evaluation of learning outcomes and evaluation of the learning process. Second, the implementation of learning activities begins with a pre-test, then core activities using the targhib wa tarhib method, lectures, demonstrations, discussions, and questions and answers, and ends with a post-test. The evaluation was carried out using two test techniques, namely, test techniques which included written tests, oral tests, and practice and non-test techniques, namely the assessment of students' attitudes.
