Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of financial rewards, professional training, work intrinsic value, work environment, and job market considerations on career choices as public accountants. The method used in this research is a quantitative method. Respondents in this study were accounting students class 2017, Faculty of Economics and Business, Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta, where the sampling used the incidental sampling method, with a sample size of 82 respondents. Data analysis techniques used multiple linear regression models. The results of this study indicate that professional training, the intrinsic value of work, and market considerations all adhere to career choices as public accountants with sig values of 0.048 respectively; 0.043; and 0.003. Meanwhile, financial rewards and work environment have no effect on career choice as a public accountant with sig values of 0.550 and 0.311.
