Abstract
This study aims to analyze the effect of number of small industrial business units, production value, gross regional domestic product, and distric/city minimum wages on labor absorption in East Java province in 2019. The data used in this study are secondary data obtained from the agency. The statistical center (BPS), the industry agency, and the manpower office. The analysis model usedis multiple linear regression with the ordinary least square (OLS) method. Based on the cassical assumption test, including multicollinearity test, residual normality test, heteroskesdasticity test, and model specification test. The results of the t-test analysis show that the variable number of business units and the district/city minimum wage has a positive and significant effect on employment in small industries in East Jawa ptovince. Meanwhile, the variables of production value and gross regional domestic product do not have a significant effect on labor absorption. The results of the F test indicated the model exists. The coefficient determination is 97,83%, meaning that the variation in the labor force variable number of business units, production value, gross regional domestic product, and district/city minimum wage. While the remaining 2,17% is explained by other independent variables which are not included in the model.
