Abstract

Hypertension is a chronic disease that requires long-term treatment so that blood pressure can be controlled within normal limits. Long-term anti-hypertensive medication can have side effects and affect the patient's quality of life which is inadequate. The purpose of this study was to describe the quality of life in hypertensive patients who experience complications in the working area of Puskesmas Kartasura, Sukoharjo Regency. This type of research is quantitative with a descriptive design. The study population was hypertension patients who had complications in the Kartasura Public Health Center, Sukoharjo Regency with a sample of 53 which was determined using a total sampling technique. The measuring instrument used in this research is the Short Form Questionnaire (SF-36) and the data analysis used is descriptive analysis. The results of this study indicate that the quality of life of hypertensive patients with complications in the working area of Puskesmas Kartasura, Sukoharjo Regency is mostly poor (55%).
