Abstract
Landslide is the movement of soil or rock masses down the slope due to disturbance of soil stability. Dawe District is one of the sub-districts in Kudus Regency which is located at the slope of the Muria Mountains. The social-economy indicators of the Dawe District area need to be studied because these aspects have an impact on landslides. The objectives of this study include : first, to determine the level of hazard to landslides in Dawe District. Second, to analyze the relationship between the level of hazard and the social-economy vulnerability of Dawe District. Third, to determine the risk level of landslides in Dawe District. The method used in this research is spatial analysis with overlay and weighted scoring. The unit of analysis is in the form of landslide-prone villages, physical sampling methods using land unit maps and community informants based on local knowledge. The data used in this study are secondary data obtained from government agencies of Kudus Regency and primary data in the form of going directly to the field to determine the condition of the research area and conducting interviews to clarify the results of the research. The results of the research are the level of landslide hazard in Dawe District, divided into three classes: low, medium and high. The high level of landslide vulnerability found in 7 villages with an area of 25.55 km2.The level of social-economy vulnerability in Dawe District to landslide vulnerability is related, where the level of landslide vulnerability in the region is high and the level of social-economy vulnerability in the region is also high, so it is necessary to have the capacity to reduce the social-economy risk of landslides in the region. Population density factors and agricultural land area with landslide vulnerability factors influence each other. The social-economy risk level of landslides in Dawe District is divided into three classes: low, medium and high classes. There are six villages that have a high social-economy risk level of landslides, including Colo Village, Puyoh Village, Piji Village, Cendono Village, Margorejo Village, Rejosari Village and Kandang Mas Village. Based on the results of this study the government, community or stakeholders need to implement mitigation both structurally and non-structurally.
