Abstract
Neck pain is a common condition and the fourth leading cause of disability worldwide. Neck pain can come from a number of disorders or diseases that involve any of the tissues in the neck, nerves, bones, joints, ligaments, or muscles. Increased duration of laptop use due to online learning, as well as several studies showing that working in front of a laptop in a sedentary position and flexing the neck at an angle of 20˚ for long periods of time are associated with an increased risk of neck pain. To determine the relationship between the duration and position of laptop use during online lectures on complaints of neck pain. This study used an observational study design, with a cross sectional approach. The sample in the study was 92 respondents. To measure or determine the level of neck pain in this respondent, a measuring instrument is used, namely the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS), which is a number used to describe the level of pain ranging from mild pain to unbearable pain. The second instrument used is a questionnaire which is used to analyze the duration and position when using a laptop. Analysis using the chi square test which results in the presence or absence of a relationship between duration and position that occurs in laptop users (Independent variable) on neck pain. Characteristics of respondents, based on age, the majority were 25 years old as much as 46.7% and the majority were female as much as 83.7%. Description of the duration of the majority of respondents who had a duration of more than 4 hours were 64 people (74%), 71 people (86.6%) were not in the ergonomic category, and 65 respondents (79.3%) had neck pain. Based on the results of the chi square test, it was found that there was no relationship between duration and neck pain, with a p-value of 0.207 > 0.05 and there was a relationship between position and neck pain with a p-value of 0.003 < 0.05. Based on the results of multiple linear regression analysis, it was found 5,625 with a p-value of 0.005 and the R2 test results showed a value of 0.125, so there was a relationship between duration and position of neck pain in students using laptop. There is no relationship between duration and neck pain in students using laptop. There is a relationship between position and neck pain in students using laptop. There is a relationship of 12.5% between duration and position with neck pain in students using laptop.
