Abstract

Increasingly rampant juvenile delinquency and a lack of Islamic knowledge have led to an increase in delinquency in adolescents which has attracted concerns from various parties. The challenges and burdens of da'wah are getting bigger and more complicated. Many claim to be cadres but don't care about Muhammadiyah. Besides that, there are cadres who just follow along and don't know the basis of their organization and are not in accordance with the original character of the organization. The Muhammadiyah Student Association (IPM) organization can function as a form of character for Indonesian students but can not be separated from religious knowledge to support the development and formation of cadres with character. The formation of Muhammadiyah cadres with character in the Regional Leadership of the Muhammadiyah Student Association (PD IPM) in Jepara can be said to be relevant in shaping the character of cadres considering that the activities carried out are of integrity and religious in nature. This study aims to describe the role and implementation of the work program of the Muhammadiyah Student Association (IPM) in forming character cadres in Jepara. This research uses descriptive analysis method or type of field research (field research) which is carried out by exploring the role of the Muhammadiyah Student Association in forming character cadres in PD IPM Jepara. The subjects in this study were the Regional Leaders of the Muhammadiyah Student Association of Jepara Regency and the object was the role of PD IPM Jepara in forming cadres with character. There are two kinds of data sources used in this study, namely humans and non-humans. Humans as informants (Head of Leadership and Cadre Members of PD IPM Jepara. Meanwhile, non-human data sources are in the form of documents and relevant data. Data collection techniques are obtained by means of observation, interviews and documentation. The results of this study found that PD IPM Jepara can play a role in shaping the character of Muhammadiyah cadres and the implementation of their work programs can have an effect on character building. The role of the Regional Leaders of the Muhammadiyah Student Association (IPM) in Forming Characteristic Muhammadiyah Cadres in Jepara is to carry out their vision and mission to achieve organizational goals. In shaping his character through the method of discussion, example, advice and habituation. While the effect can shape changes in the cognitive (knowledge), affective (attitude) and psychomotor (behavior) aspects. The characters that can be formed from the work program are the characters of being obedient to worship, sincere, confident and courageous, rational, responsible, caring and willing to sacrifice, working hard, anticipating, dynamic, togetherness, creative and innovative.
