Abstract

This study aims to find out: (1) The influence of conformity on consumptive behavior in the youth of Majenang Kuripan Purwodadi Grobogan Village. (2) The influence of peer environment on consumptive behavior in the youth of Majenang Kuripan Purwodadi Grobogan Village. (3) The influence of conformity and peer environment on consumptive behavior in the youth of Majenang Kuripan Purwodadi Grobogan Village. This type of research is quantitative using survey design. The population of this study is majenang village teenagers who number 110. The samples in this study were 84 teenagers taken using random sampling techniques. Data collection techniques using questionnaires that have been tested for validity and reliability tests. The analysis prerequisite test uses normality test, linearity test, multicolineerity test, and heteroskedastisity test. Data analysis techniques use multiple linear regression analysis, F-test, t-test, determination coefficient, Effective Contribution (SE), and Relative Contribution (SR). Based on the results of the data analysis, the double linear regression equation shows Y= 9.182 + 0.252X + 0.739X₂. The equation shows that adolescents' consumptive behavior is influenced by conformity and peer environment. The conclusion that can be obtained is (1) Conformity affects consumptive behavior, as evidenced by the > value of 2.015 > 1.989 and the probability value of 0.047 < 0.05. . (2) The peer environment affects consumptive behavior, as evidenced by the > value of 6,730 > 1,989 and the probability value of 0.000 < 0.05. (3) Conformity and peer environment affect consumptive behavior, as evidenced by the > value of 30,806 > 3.11 and probability value of 0.000 < 0.05. (4) Conformity variables give SR 13.8% and SE 6%. Peer environment variables gave SR 86.2% and SE 37.2%. The coefficient of determination (R²) was 0.432 or 43.2%, meaning that the variable conformity and environment of peers influenced by 43.2% while 56.8% was influenced by other variables.
