Abstract

The public health center was a health service facility that organizes public health efforts and first-level individual health efforts, by prioritizing promotive and preventive efforts, to achieve the highest public health status. The government had the responsibility to ensure every citizen gets quality health services according to their needs. Mental health nursing services were an integral part of health services in holistic and comprehensive manner. Mental health problem was estimated by the World Health Organization (WHO) to be the first cause of death in 2030 after coronary heart disease. This study aimed to determine the description of the community mental health programs in Sukoharjo Regency. This research was a qualitative research with a qualitative phenomenological method. The number of samples in this study were 9 participants, with a purposive sampling technique. The data collection instrument used semi-structured interviews, while the data analysis used thematic analysis. The result of this research was the community mental health programs at Tawangsari Public Health Center and Kartasura Public Health Center, Sukoharjo Regency has been implemented even though there were several obstacles so that its implementation was not optimal.
