Abstract

This study aims to determine whether the motivation consisting of career motivation, quality motivation, economic motivation, cost of education and length of education influence accounting students to attend Accounting Professional Education (PPAk). This type of research uses quantitative methods. The population used in this study were all accounting students at the Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta. The sample in this study were 2016 and 2017 accounting students, calculated using the Slovin formula to get 96 respondents. The sampling technique used a convenience sampling technique. Collecting data used in this study with a questionnaire or a five point likert scale. The data analysis technique used is multiple linear regression with the results of the study showing that the variables of career motivation, cost of education and length of education have no effect on the interest of accounting students to attend Accounting Professional Education (PPAk). Meanwhile, the variables of quality motivation and economic motivation have an effect on the interest of accounting students to take part in Accounting Professional Education (PPAk).
