Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of industrial agglomeration, human development index and economic openness on development inequality in Eastern Indonesia in 2015-2018. The data used in this study were industrial agglomeration data, human development index, economic openness and development inequality in Eastern Indonesia from 2015-2018 which were obtained from the Central Statistics Agency or in Bahasa as known as Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS) and the Ministry of Trade. The data analysis used in this research is panel data regression. Industrial agglomeration is measured using the Ballasa Index. Regional inequality is measured by the Williamson Index. Based on the estimation results of Panel Data Regression and hypothesis testing, it was found that (F test) industrial agglomeration, human development index (HDI) and economic openness jointly affected development inequality. Partially based on the t test, industrial agglomeration was proven to have no effect on development inequality, the human development index (HDI) had a negative effect on development inequality, and economic openness had a positive effect.
