Abstract

Hypertension is a chronic disease and is a major risk factor for atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, heart failure, heart failure, stroke and kidney failure. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between family support and compliance with hypertension sufferers at the Kedungjajang Public Health Center, Lumajang Regency. This type of research is quantitative with a cross sectional approach. The sample in this study were 67 respondents who were taken by purposive sampling method. The instruments in this study were the Family Support questionnaire and the treatment adherence questionnaire. The results of the normality test conducted by Kolmogrof Smirnovv showed a significance value of 0.636. The results of the analysis of the spearman's rho bivariate correlation test obtained a sig value of 0.021 <0.05, indicating a weak relationship between family support and treatment compliance. The conclusion of this study is good family support affects treatment adherence of hypertensive patients. Keywords : hypertension, family support, treatment compliance
