Abstract

The characteristics of the existing mangrove forests in Bintan Regency have the potential for coastal and marine ecotourism tourism by accentuating the typical Malay traditional culture. SMKN 1 Bintan Utara, which stands on an area of 2 hectares with existing mangroves, requires facilities that can accommodate educational activities and practical training for students majoring in hospitality, a major that has just opened in the last two years. The Pusdiklat facilities which also serve hotel tourism activities in the form of Mangrove Resort are considered in accordance with the needs of SMKN 1 Bintan Utara because the characteristics of a resort are usually in areas that have beautiful and unusual views, besides that practical students can carry out their activities along with Mangrove Resort tourism activities. The concept of Ecotourism Mangrove Resort with the function of the Center for Hospitality Education and Training at SMKN 1 Bintan Utara is used to combine mangrove forest land use (conservation-based tourism) with learning facilities for the Hospitality Department at SMKN 1 Bintan Utara in building planning design.
