Abstract
Research on the analysis of the level of welfare of farmers in Wonoharjo Village, Wonogiri District, Wonogiri Regency by utilizing the role of the concept of geography in agriculture. This research is influenced by the income of rice farmers which includes rice farmers' income and farming costs as well as indicators that determine the level of farmer welfare according to the BKKBN in 2012. These indicators include religion, clothing, food, housing, health, income, education, family planning, family interactions, social interactions, and the role of the family in society. The purpose of this study was to assess income and to analyze the level of welfare of rice farmers (paddy fields) in Wonoharjo Village. The method used in this research is a field survey according to (Singarimbun & Effendi, 1995). The population, namely all heads of rice farming families in Wonoharjo Village, totaling 1558 households, taking the sample using the method according to (Slovin, 1960) with 10% errors resulted in 87 households, then divided by 13 so that each hamlet was represented by 7 rice farmers. The survey was conducted in a structured manner and then questionnaires were distributed to respondents containing several questions according to the information to be used. Observations were made by analyzing the results of a questionnaire with predetermined respondents, so that the primary data obtained became credible and accountable data. The results were analyzed descriptively on each indicator with reference to geographical concepts. The results of this study are the income of rice farmers in Wonoharjo Village with an average income of rice farmers of Rp. 10.976,437 in every three months, for the average farm cost of Rp. 2.244,253 in every three months and the average net income of rice farmers is Rp. 8.732,184 every three months with an average land area of 0.5 hectares. As a comparison, Sindangsari Village is in narrow land households or an average land area of around 0.5 hectares, with an income of rice farmers of IDR 4,275,000 every three months with a percentage of 81% including high income levels, thus for the Village Wonoharjo itself is very low compared to Sindang Sari Village. The welfare level of rice farmers in Wonoharjo Village from the results obtained according to indicators from the 2012 BKKBN, there were 24 rice farmers who entered the stage (KPS) as many as 27%, (KS 1) as many as 27 farmers or 31%, (KS 2) 17 farmers or 20%, (KS 3) 15 farmers or 17%, (KS 3+) 4 farmers or 5%. This shows that the welfare of the rice farmer families in Wonoharjo Village is dominated by the head of the family with the category according to the 2012 BKKBN as Prosperous Family I (KS I) as many as 27 rice farmers amounting to 31%. Why is that, because farmers only rely on farmers' income to meet their daily needs without any other work outside of rice farming. The analysis of the level of welfare of rice farmers is related to geographical concepts, one of which is the concept of spatial linkages. The purchase of fertilizers, agricultural equipment, and other equipment is easy to obtain due to its location in the heart of the capital city of Wonogiri Regency. The distribution of farmers' crops to collectors is also easy due to the easy-to-reach location so that transportation costs are also not much incurred. Then the existence of the Farmer Group organization is also very helpful in the process of buying and selling agricultural products, both from farmers and buyers from other regions. So that it can reduce additional costs for farmer expenses in accessibility. The purchase of fertilizer from the organization is also limited to reduce the problem of lack of fertilizer for the farm.
