Abstract

This study analyses the xeroderma pimentosum disease in the midnight sun film directed by Scott Speer. Researchers used sociological theory to analyse data. This study aims to analyse the xeroderma pimentosum disease in this work, to explain the illustration of xeroderma pimentosum in this work, to discuss the reasons why the author raised the issue of xeroderma pimentosum in this work. This research uses qualitative research. The type of data from this study consists of two parts. The main data sources are the midnight sun film and other supporting data sources which include previous research, the internet, author biographies, and data related to the research. The results include: first are the characteristics of xeroderma pigmentosum. The second is the illustration of xeroderma pimentosum disease which is depicted through characters, events, time and place. Finally, the reason the author raises the issue of xeroderma pigmentosum is because he wants to show and provide information about xeroderma pigmentosum in life. Many people do not know and feel how to live with a rare disease that leads to death. In this case, xeroderma pigjmentosum is a disease that requires more attention, especially from the medical team and family.
