Abstract

A smartphone is something that is specially made in this advanced age with the aim of making things easier. The amount of time teenagers spend using smartphones can classify them as addicts / addicts. Smartphone addiction is more common in young adolescents (15-16 years) compared to young adults (19 years and over). The fact that adolescents spend more time with smartphones raises concerns about possible adverse health effects such as musculoskeletal disorders, one of which is forward head posture. This study was to determine the relationship between smartphone addiction and forward head posture in adolescents. Smartphone addiction was done by filling out the SAS-SV questionnaire and measuring the CVA angle for the forward head posture. The research conducted was correlation using cross sectional design. The data analysis used was fisher's exact test. The sample size was 26 adolescents aged 10-19 years with the incidental sampling technique. The results showed that 17 (65.4%) adolescents experienced addiction and 20 (76.9%) adolescents experienced FHP. There is a relationship between smartphone addiction and forward head posture in adolescents (p = 0.000).
