Abstract

Novel is a literary work that discusses the life problems of a person or various characters. The story in the novel begins with the problem presented by the character and ends with an experiment. The novel novel can also be used as a medium of learning, the story in the novel contains a lot of moral messages to be conveyed. Researchers examined the values of moral education in the novel Sang Pencerah by Akmal Nasery Basral. The aim was to see the values of moral education and the main character in dealing with problems in the novel Sang Pencerah. The Enlightenment novel tells the life of KH Ahmad Dahlan and the efforts to establish Muhammadiyah. After returning from Mecca, Darwis changed his name to Ahmad Dahlan. A 21-year-old man worried about the application of deviant Islamic sharia or other languages is heresy. Ahmad Dahlan changed the direction of Qibla through Langgar / Suraunya, by changing the wrong qibla direction in Kauman Mosque, which angered the community as well as Kyai penghulu Kamaludinningrat, who maintained the tradition. Ahmad Dahlan is also accused of being Kyai Kafir for opening a school and putting his students in chairs like a modern Dutch school. Ahmad Dahlan was also accused of being Kyai Kejawen, solely because it was close to the Javanese intellectual community in Budi Utomo. But the allegations did not make kauman youths retreat. Ahmad Dahlan accompanied by his wife and five loyal disciples Sudja, Sangidu, Fahrudin, Hisham and Dirjo, founded Muhammadiyah with the aim of educating Muslims to keep up with the times. The data method used is documentation, the method of documentation here is by looking for data about things or variables. The author uses a document in the form of the novel Sang Pencerah. The data analysis used is a deductive method, which departs from the events and then reduces them to specific parts. Based on the results of research conducted by researchers, it can be concluded that the values of moral education from the enlightening novel are more dominant which are directly practiced by the main character of the novel and the main character of the novel has good morals and behaves courageously, has principles that are strong, steadfast in his stance, and patient in dealing with the problems that are already in the novel.
