Abstract

The land use change is a process carried out to change the original land function into other functions. The agricultural land in Sambungmacan District on 2010 had a land area of 2,328.02 ha and on 2018 decreased to 2,277.27 ha. The transferring of agricultural land functions, which has continued to increase over the years, has finally begun caused problems with the socio-economic conditions of the surrounding communities. This study used spatial modelling of the distribution of land-use change using GeoEye imagery of Sambungmacan District on the years of 2010 and 2018, which previously carried out a digitizing process before overlaying to determine the distribution. The objectives of this study are (1) Knowing the distribution pattern of the and use change of agricultural in Sambungmacan District on the years of 2010 and 2020, (2) To analyse the factors that affected the land use change of agricultural in Sambungmacan District on the years of 2010 and 2020, (3) To analyse the impact of the land use change of agricultural to the socio-economic conditions of the communities in Sambungmacan District. The method which is used is the Nearest Neighbor Analysis method and quantitative descriptive. The results showed that (1) The pattern of land use change distribution in Sambungmacan District on the years of 2010 and 2020 were included in the clustered classification with a T-value of -5.7, (2) The most dominant factors affecting land use change in Sambungmacan District consisted of as follows; personal needs, the land area of 301-500 m², strategic location, high selling price, equipped with collector road infrastructure, irrigation systems that experience drought during the dry season, and agricultural products that are determined by the cost of productivity incurred. (3) The impact of the land use change of agricultural has an impact on the communities in terms of; cooperation activities that are starting to decrease, environmental pollution, increasing crime rates, disturbing the levels of comfort, transfer of work professions, good contribution to the local community in providing employment opportunities, the emergence of new business opportunities, and increasing income.
