Abstract
Batik workers are informal sector workers who are known to work sitting on a small stool where both the thighs and legs are bent, the back is bent and the wrists are flexed and extended. If the position is performed repeatedly and continuously, it can cause trauma to the body's tissues or Cumulative Trauma Disorders (CTD), one of which is Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. The purpose of this literature review is to determine the risk factors for the incidence of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome in batik. This research is a literature review using research methods by reviewing specifically or summarizing empirical or theoretical literature to provide a more comprehensive understanding of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome in batik with the stages of problem identification, literature search, processing and presentation. The inclusion criteria in this literature review are in the form of having research variables in accordance with those to be reviewed, the research method uses observational research with a cross-sectional approach and research literature in Indonesian or English. The exclusion criteria are literature that has been published for more than 10 years (before 2010) and the literature cannot be accessed completely. Literature is searched through electronic databases, namely Google Scholar, ProQuest and PudMed. There are 5 appropriate literature, with variable risk factors for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome in batik. The conclusion from this literature review, the five articles state that the risk factors for the occurrence of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome in batik are working period, work attitude, repetitive movements, hand posture and age.
