Abstract

ABSTRACT Jihad is the theme of the Qur'an which has always been a special topic of discussion among Muslims. Jihad is a struggle to achieve Allah's pleasure. Many of these are contained in the Qur'an and the hadith of the Prophet SAW. Interestingly, the verse of jihad has different interpretations from classical to contemporary times. This interpretation produces various concepts and actualizations of jihad. Because of the uniqueness of these different interpretations, the writer is interested in discussing the concept of jihad in Hasan al-Banna's interpretation of al-Banna and M. Quraish Shihab's interpretation of al-Misbah, which has the style of Adabi Ijtima> i. This qualitative research with literature study uses a comparative descriptive approach with the deduction method. The results of research on this interpretation found that there are three aspects of the equation and two aspects of difference. The similarities are (1) The basic aspects of the verse in jihad (2) The aspects of the object and the target of jihad (3) The legal aspects of jihad while the difference is (1) The aspect of meaning and form of jihad (2) The aspect of jihad with assets. Theoretically, this research is useful to add to the treasures of al-Qur'an research and to contribute to a deeper understanding of the concept of jihad in the al-Qur'an.
