Abstract

This study aims to: (1) develop comic books about the dangers of erosion in student learning at SMA Negeri 1 Cawas Klaten Regency and (2) determine the use of comic book learning media development to improve student learning outcomes on erosion hazard materials. The research subjects were students of class X IPS 2 for the experimental class and X IPS 3 for the control class. This study used a pretest-posttest control group design, using 2 classes, namely a control class of 30 students in class X IPS 3 and an experimental class of 30 students in class X IPS 2. Data collection techniques were observation, questionnaires, and tests. with quantitative descriptive analysis. The results showed (1) Define contains a test for the needs of teachers and students, the design contains a comic book media design that has been analyzed according to the needs test, and the development contains validation to determine which comic book media is suitable for use. The development of learning media through product assessments carried out by material experts has an average of 4.2 which is in the "good" category, media experts with an average of 4.8 which is in the "good" category. (2) The results of the Paired Samples T-test for the control class and the experimental class showed a significance of, 000 so that <0.05 then H1 is accepted, the acquisition of an average score of prestest in the control class with a total of 36 students getting 54 and the experimental class getting 64, an increase of 10, while the posttest average score in the control class is 70 and the experimental class is 88, an increase of 18 which means The 2 classroom learning process that is not provided with comic book media is more effective using comic book media.
