Abstract

This study aims to analyze and examine the effect of liquidity, leverage, institutional ownership and sales growth on financial distress. This research method is quantitative. The population in this study are companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) for the period 2016-2019. This study used purposive sampling method and obtained a population of 42 companies with 152 samples and four years of observation that met the criteria set as the research sample. Data were tested using multiple linear regression methods. The results of this study concluded that the variables liquidity, leverage, and institutional ownership had a significant effect on financial distress. while the sales growth variable does not have a significant effect on financial distress.
