Abstract
Pedagogical competence is the ability to understand students, design and implement learning, evaluate learning outcomes, and develop students to actualize their various potentials. In teaching prospective teachers and teachers must understand Pedagogical Competencies. One of the Muhammadiyah University Surakarta programs that support the formation of education students to prepare teacher candidates who can master pedagogical competencies and other teacher competencies that are integrated and intact is the Introduction to School Field (PLP). PLP is one of the curricular activities that FKIP and FAI UMS students must carry out, to get a bachelor's degree. Introduction to School Field II (PLP II) is the second stage in the introduction of the undergraduate program schooling field. The purpose of this study is to analyze the preparation of prospective teachers before implementing pedagogical competencies, to determine the implementation and ability of prospective teachers and to analyze constraints and solutions for implementing pedagogical competencies. has been done by prospective teachers. The subjects of this study were 80 students of PGSD UMS class 2016. There are two sources of research data, namely primary data and secondary data. Primary data is data obtained from interviews and observation sheets of PGSD UMS students. Secondary data is the result of PLP II value. The research method uses descriptive qualitative. The data collection techniques used were interview sheets, documentation and field notes. Data analysis used three qualitative data analysis techniques, namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The data validation was done through triangulation of data sources and triangulation of theories. The results of this study are: students have planned the implementation of pedagogical competencies, students have implemented pedagogical competence implementation, students have encountered obstacles in the process of implementing pedagogical competencies.
