Abstract

Boyolali Regency is one of the areas in Central Java which is a tourist destination. Supported by unspoiled natural conditions, tourism in Boyolali is growing rapidly, especially nature-based tourism. Aside from that, Boyolali regency also has abundant potential for cow’s milk. This is evidenced in the 2019 BPS data, there are 94,088 dairy cows that produce 49,716,941 liters of milk in one year. However, the potential of Boyolali Regency is not fully utilized. For example, in selling cow’s milk. The farmer directly sells the pure cow's milk without going through any further processing, so that the product's selling value is relatively low. Especially in Musuk District. As an area with the largest number of dairy cows and milk production, the development of livestock business has not experienced a significant increase. Lack of education to farmers and the public about the processing of livestock products makes farmers less able to maximize the selling value of livestock products. On the basis of these thoughts, the authors propose a planning and design concept of Cattle Farm Agrotourism and Milk Processing in Musuk District, Boyolali Regency. Apart from developing a livestock business, it can also develop local tourism. The purpose of agrotourism is as a means of recreation and education of visitors about cattle farming and cattle processing. The concept used in this planning and design program is sustainable architecture. The concept of sustainable architecture was chosen to minimize the negative impact of agr-tourism development on the environment.
