Abstract
Forest fires occurred almost every year triggered by natural conditions like long dry season (usually June and October) with the peak in September. Indonesia has forest of 85,85 million hectares and in 2019 there was forest loss of 857.756 hectares. A national park has the role and strategic way to preserve biodiversity biogeography island in Indonesia national and one of them is The Merbabu (TNG merbabu). A fire in TNG Merbabu was estimated 400 hectares which is more or less 7% area of TNG Merbabu burned. The forest fire damage the ecosystem of flora and fauna, interfere with the distribution of the waters and cause a decline in the quality and quantity of forest in Indonesia. Therefore the estimation of forest fires susceptibility in TNG Merbabu is required. The purpose of this research is to analyze a forest fire susceptibility zone in TNG Merbabu and analyze the causes of fire incident in TNG Merbabu forest. Methods used were skoring method and overlay by distance of the parameters, which are the distance from the river, the distance from the path, temperature, of land use, NDVI, and slope. Based on the research, the zone of a forest fire in TNG Merbabu, there are five zones, extremely susceptible, highly susceptible zone, moderate susceptibility, low susceptibility, and not prone. The dominated zone is moderate susceptibility (2730,5 hectares / 46,91 %) and low susceptible zone (2049,79 hectares / 35,22 %). Land use was the land use parameter that affect a forest fire of 0,38519 or 38 %.
